First Challenge: 30 Day Shred

So my first challenge for my new blog is going to be Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred. I have done her workout before and I have never completed the 30 days in 30 days. I am excited that I am doing this blog because it will make me more accountable to do this workout in 30 days.

I chose to do the 30 Day Shred because I need to start exercising. I was pregnant most of last year and in July I got SPD (pelvic pain) and moving wasn't very pleasant for me. I was told not to do any big movements with my legs that would affect my pelvis and that eliminated a lot of exercises. It also gave me an excuse not to workout. I had my son in October and after I was given the go ahead to exercise I didn't. I just needed some motivation to get me going and this blog was the answer! I am only five pounds away from my pre-pregnancy weight and I am not concerned with losing weight doing this (if I wanted to lose those extra pounds I would stop eating some of the "bad" foods that I crave, like cookies!). I am hoping that by doing this workout video I will get a stronger core and strengthen my back muscles. Just last week I threw my back out TWICE! The second time was so bad that I couldn't even walk and I had to crawl around. Having a bum back is not so good when you have a two year old and a three month old.

Here are a couple of the challenges that I foresee being an issue for me:

-We are having some construction going on in our living room, so the TV has been taken down. That means that I have to use my computer for the workout. I am hoping that this won't be too hard to do, especially since my two year old will most likely want to play with my computer (I'll look for a spot that he can't get too!)

-My kids. I am hoping that each day I will be able to find 30 minutes where I can have this me time. I know that it is going to be hard, but my husband will definitely be helping me out.

-My back. I am hoping that it doesn't go out again because if it does that will mean no exercising for me!

Every day I will blog about my workouts, how I did, how I felt, and whatever else I feel like writing about!

Enjoy!

-Heather

  1. You are inspiring me, Heather! To do what, I am not sure yet...but something. I'll keep you posted. Thanks. I needed that.
